Asomarse al reflejo
Hay imágenes que nos echan un anzuelo. Nos atrapan, se quedan con nosotros (a veces sin darnos cuenta) y nos acompañan. Son imágenes que guardamos digitalmente, físicamente o que pueden existir sólo en nuestra mente a modo de sueño o de recuerdo. Suele pasar que rápidamente forman parte del olvido… Hasta que un día, sin buscarlo, nos encontramos con ellas y nos reflejan un pasado que vivimos tan auténtico como si estuviera sucediendo en ese momento. Esta serie quiere honrar ese proceso involuntario de la memoria, ese pasado que vuelve.
En el visionado en directo de estas obras, es interesante moverse frente a ellas para asomarse a las diferentes sensaciones visuales que generan los reflejos del acero pulido sobre el que están pintadas.
Peering into the reflection
There are images that catch our attention. They are captivating, and they can stay and accompany with us (sometimes without us realizing it). These are images that we store digitally, physically, or that may exist only in our minds as dreams or memories. But they often quickly fade into oblivion… Until one day, without looking for them, we come across and they reflect a past that we experienced as authentical, as if it were happening in present. This series aims to honor that involuntary process of memory, that past that returns.
When viewing these works in person, it is interesting to move around in front of them to take in the different visual sensations created by the reflections of the polished steel on which they are painted.
