A pictorial insight
Every time I pick up the brush I resume a learning process that began the first time I painted in my life and that will not end until the last time I do it. Each beginning of a painting is at the same time a new introspective look. The experience and the demand lead me to finish the work and in that moment I will have already changed.
The process is a transformation. As if it were a mixture of colors, the content and the form, the hand and the mind also merge.
In a first stage, which can last for months, the awakened mind is looking for the subject, what to represent. Memories, experiences, perspectives, variations in the light… She knows well the pictorial struggle and after a long time meditating without any action, it is time to put it in the background. From the first brushstroke the body is the protagonist and its intuitive movements are essential.
Criticism will come later. Time will unleash new paths and challenges for the next battles.

«Often the first physical confrontation with the work is the blank canvas. A white that I often transform into brown or black, or steel, or total transparency»
